Tattoo Tuesday – Happy Anniversary

I get asked alllllll the time about my tattoos and really, why shouldn’t I be asked? I have quite a few tattoos and since I’ve started migrating them down the fronts of my arms, they’re far more visible and by nature people are curious. So I’ve decided that I would like to profile a tattoo and the story behind it…some stories may be interesting while others may be impulsive…but isn’t that the story in itself.

A decade.

I was diagnosed with cancer (fuck cancer) and 2 weeks later we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. We decided that in the wake of the worst news we hope to ever hear in our lives, we should celebrate our milestone anniversary with a trip. We booked a 5 day trip to California. 3 nights in Huntington Beach and 2 nights in LA. The trip was significant, romantic and strengthening. I decided that I wanted to mark the decade that we have been married with a tattoo. I designed an idea with an X for 10 years and a B and T for each of us. We drove over to High Voltage Tattoo and I got a walk-in appointment with Jack Mosher. He did an amazing job commemorating our trip and marking the time. This is one of my favourite tattoos.
