Tattoo Tuesday – New York Ink

It’s tattoo tuesday! This tattoo is on my outer arm just above my wrist. It’s my take on a very popular tattoo image making the rounds on Pinterest using the word “love”. I like to take inspiration from what is popular but adapt it to make it individually my own. To me, this tattoo is a reminder to Live to Love and Love to Live. It is quickly becoming my life’s mantra.

I got this tattoo in New York during my trip in May 2012. I always say that life’s too short to get bad tattoos so my friend and I went to Soho to Wooster Street Social Club Tattoo. This tattoo shop was featured on the brief  TV reality show, NY INK. I had the pleasure of having Luke Wessman do this piece on me. . Luke was friendly and professional and most of all, very down to earth. We had a lot of fun and laughs while we were there.

I love to travel to new and exciting places and I also love tattoos that have a story, even if the story is that I just wanted it. I started seeking out tattoos while on vacation because there is not better souvenir than a tattoo. The last thing I needed was another trinket or keychain. I can’t wait till my next trip this coming spring!

  1. That’s really cool. Did Luke design it or did you? I heard the guys at Wooster street are really cool and down to earth on top of being amazing artists.

    1. I brought him a reference image and he put his own Luke-ism twist to it. He was an amazing guy. So friendly and funny. I would go back and see him anytime I was in NYC again.
Thanks for the comment. It’s nice to hear from my readers.

  2. Awesome design, I love it. I’m planning my next tattoo at the moment, but I can’t decide what to do. I really want to design it myself which would be nice as I’m always designing for others lol!

  3. I got a tattoo the day I turned 18. I love tattoos because they can help you express yourself. I plan on getting lots of other tattoos in the future. Hopefully I can get my second one soon.

  4. Wow, that’s some really awesome looking ink! My husband, Michael, just got a new travel inspired, compass & anchor tattooed on his arm. He wrote about it along with a bunch of others on our site. Check it out, and let us know what you think!
