Life Is Good #98

I am so very grateful for my Aunt Lisa who in the absence of my dear mother, has been a mother figure to me and Nana to my 4 children. She has wisdom and history that I hope to learn from her on so many subjects. One of her many talents is her ability to sew. As a young girl she learned to sew from her Grandmother and then went on to make many of hers and her sisters clothes, even wedding dresses! Brigette expressed an interest in learning how to sew and Nana took that idea and ran with it, getting her a PINK sewing machine for Christmas. A few days after the Christmas rush, Nana came over for Brigette’s (and my) first sewing lesson. I have never seen Brigette so focused and interested in something before. She was so excited to use her hands to make something that she can be proud to wear. I can see her turning this into a passionate hobby or dare I say, move over Stella McCartney!
