I’m In The Picture (52 Week Photo Project)

Last week I came across an article in the Huffington Post called, The Mom Stays In The Picture. A mom blogger wrote about how she came to realize that thru a busy life, being on the other end of the camera and sometimes sheer vanity, she was rarely in any pictures with her kids. She feared that her kids would never see the other side of their childhood, the mom side. She vowed to keep herself in pictures so that when her children grow up they will look back on a hard drive full of pictures of their childhood that would also document life with their mother. I lost my mother at the age of 13 and in a time before digital cameras. I have very few images of her to reflect on.

And so this project was born. I plan on taking at least 1 picture with one or all of my kids, once a week. I will post an image or 2 every Sunday.
I know I’m not alone out there. Do you get in pictures with your kids? How often? Birthdays, Christmas?

I got Brigette to take this picture of her 2 sisters and me today.

I’d love it if you join me. Start a 52 week project of your own. It’s simple, keep a camera handy at all times. Everyone has a smartphone in their purse, snap a shot and save it to your computer. Feel like sharing? Email your snaps to tiffany@mydirt.ca and I’ll post some of yours along with mine. Lets get back in front of the camera. Good, bad or ugly, it’s all gonna be beautiful.
