Happy New Year

Happy New Year all your dirty people!

It’s a new year. Thank GAWD! Not that 2013 was a terrible year by any means. Trust me, I’ve had worse. I’m just glad that a new year has started with all it’s possibilities. A new year means that spring is not far down the road and I will make it thru the winter. A new year gives me just enough optimism and hope to get me motivated to try something new, set a goal, refocus and let go of the heavy stuff.

Today I’m going to talk about one part of my crazy life, my blog. It’s been an incredible year for my little blog and I’m so grateful for all the growth I’ve had. 2013 was the year that I set goals to turn my blog into my “job” regardless of income, if any. I put the time and effort and pride into my blog the same way I would any other job and in the past year I went to not only 1 but 2 blogging conferences. The first conference was my biggest test of courage having gone alone and not knowing anyone else. Coming off the heels of the second successful conference, I bought my ticket to go to the mecca of all conferences in 2014! I met some amazing people who have stayed with me to become my tribe. I have been more or less consistent posting new content. I have worked to grow my social network, which I think is the icing on the cake. It’s the place where I go to “party” with my readers. I joined an ad network and multiple communities. I became a contributing writer to 2 different sites. I had great opportunities to work with brands and I got invited to some amazing influencer events. I shot my first ever video blog and didn’t explode into a ball of flaming shame. I couldn’t have done any of these things without all of you, my readers. You made this year possible. Yes indeed, 2013 was a huge year for MyDirt.

So what will 2014 bring for the Dirty Girl?

I will grow my Facebook page to 2000.

I will grow my readership.

I will consistently have fresh content on my blog at least 3 days a week.

I will share and support those in my community.

I will be helpful and mentor others as others have done for me.

I will be a sponge and learn, learn, learn.

I will practice the art of saying YES.

I will be awesome, of course!

What are your goals for 2014 for your blog? For your family? For yourself?
