Fog Harbor Fish House San Francisco

Lets EAT!

San Francisco is a foodie town. There are restaurants everywhere and it can be extremely hard to pick.

We wandered down to the famous Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf for some more shopping. The pier is a tourist hot spot with views of the bay, shops, vendors, buskers, street art and of course food. The 4 of us met up with Melissa from Family Fun Canada for dinner at the Fog Harbor Fish House. This place doesn’t have a bad seat in the house. It’s situated right on the harbor with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and Alcatraz on the other. While, yes, the service was impeccable and yes, the decor was lovely and clean, the Fog Harbor is all about the view out the window and the view on your plate. I ordered a cup of clam chowder to start and as I practically  licked the bowl clean using a slice of their in house made sour dough bread that was still hot from the oven, as proof it was hands down the best clam chowder I’ve ever had.

I followed up with a couple of dishes that I shared with Julie of 3ChickensAndABoat. We ordered lobster mac and cheese which was every mouthful as good as it sounds, and a half lobster stuffed with crab…lobster heaven. Let’s be honest, does anyone else make a lobster bib look this good? I think not. And the best part of eating at the Fog Harbor, aside from the amazing food of course, is the fact that they are the first restaurant on Fisherman’s Wharf to offer a 100% sustainable seafood menu. I love this so much.

The server tried to entice us with a visual dessert tray offering but we were just too full of seafood goodness to fit in any sweets, although they were a mix of all my favourites including creme brûlée, apple crisp with ice cream and chocolate cake! Sadly, this means I’ll have to go back one day and try them all.
