Happy Valentines Day to my Wife

Oh, didn’t I tell you? Yes, it’s true, I have a wife and I couldn’t live without her. Questions? I thought so.

I haven’t taken up religion or joined a compound (although that’s not a bad idea) and I don’t share my husband with another woman. I have simply found that with 4 children, an entrepreneur husband and a jam packed weekly schedule, I couldn’t do it alone.

What is a Wife?

A Wife is a person who loves and supports you in all aspects of your life. She will listen when you need to empty a few drops from your heavy, overflowing bucket of stress. She will laugh and share in joyous moments. She will cry with you in silence if you need someone to hold your hand. She will give you honest advice when you need to hear the truth. A Wife is there throughout the day to help juggle that impossible schedule of school, bus pick ups and drop offs, dance, music, Brownies, gymnastics, skating, cancer treatments, meetings with the school principle and endless “appointments” for the kids. A Wife can come in many forms like a BFF, neighbour, sister or even an Aunt. I don’t quite know when it happened, that we became Wife and Wife but somewhere in the evolution of our friendship we found that those little “favours” we did for each other to help ease our daily grind were more like proposals of a greater plan. Thankfully she said, YES.

I’ve heard it said that it takes a village to raise a child but I think it takes more than a village, it takes a Wife.

I appreciate my Wife and all the endless things she does and is willing to do for me. Happy Valentines Day, Wife! (Now go have sex with your husband!)
