2017 Lincoln MKC: Compact Luxury SUV

2017 Lincoln MKC review

There are so many options in the SUV crossover category today and Lincoln does it very well. The 2017 Lincoln MKC compact luxury SUV is a great alternative to a sedan and is the perfect size for the city. 2017 Lincoln MKC review

The ingredients for a perfect SUV for me include a small ratio between the exterior size and the interior space. If an SUV is big on the outside but has a poor use of interior space then it defeats the purpose of owning a large vehicle. I’m happy to say that the MKC has the recipe perfected. Comfortable back seat for kids or small adults or your 4 legged friends make for a useful space.

Normally a small SUV means the trunk space is at a premium. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the truck that has enough space to hold luggage, shopping or a family sized Costco run. The MKC has all the tech and safety to round out a great little SUV. The centre console is lacking the gear shift, which has moved up to the dash in the infotainment area giving a lot more space in the middle of the vehicle for your stuff.

My overall opinion: In a world of SUVs and cross overs how do you stand out. The MKC is the fancy cousin to the Ford Escape and the smallest of the SUVs offered by Lincoln. While I wasn’t a big fan of the Ford Escape, the MKC from Lincoln has just enough to keep me interested. I would still opt for the larger option of the MKX but if you’re looking for a small SUV, the MKC is a great option.

The price for the fully equipped 2017 Lincoln MKC is $53,450CDN for the model I drove.

The 2017 Lincoln MKC starts at $43,800CDN for the base model.
